Is EECP therapy effective?

My dad , whenever he walks up a staircase, walking some distance or lifting something becomes very tired. We went to Oxymed Hospital in chennai (thats where our house is) and recommended EECP therapy. My question is, Is is effective in evading a Bypass Surgery and is long lasting or a temporary one??
